Category budgets, savings goals, card reminders and a bill calendar any calendar app can subscribe to.

Cash flow, category spending, savings rate and budget performance, all read from the ledger.
Assistance
Optional. Quick entry from free text, receipt photos or Telegram, AI categorization and Ask Masdan. Every AI call is capped per household.
Self-hosted
Postgres is the system of record. Redis and S3-compatible storage are optional, and the whole stack runs from one Docker Compose file.

Bring in a bank's CSV export. Rows already imported are skipped, so a re-run never doubles the books.

Do I need to host it myself?
Yes. Masdan runs on your own infrastructure. The repository includes instructions for getting started with Docker. You manage updates and backups for your instance.
Getting startedWill Masdan become a paid product?
I have no plans to monetize Masdan. It’s an open-source project, not a subscription business. Running your own instance may still involve hosting costs.
Will there be a mobile app?
No native mobile app is planned. Masdan is a web app you access through your browser.
Does it connect directly to my bank?
No. You can record transactions yourself or import your bank’s CSV export into the ledger.
Do I need AI to use Masdan?
No. AI features are optional. You can track your finances without configuring an AI provider. If you enable them, relevant data is sent to your chosen provider, whose usage may involve costs.
